Looking for something new and exciting to add to your photography toolkit? Consider joining Melvin as he takes you on a journey and dive into the world of underwater photography. We will work in an outdoor pool and we will discuss underwater photography. This program will cover in depth as we go over how to:  

• get started in this genre on a budget  

• set up lighting and personal equipment for a pool session  

• prepare and work with models  

• post process the session’s RAW files with Photoshop software 

• how to take underwater photography further photographing dancers > maternity > family; high school seniors; fine art > painting > post card > calendar > family; social media; muse; image competition.

Bios: 

Melvin is a passionate photographic artist, with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. He is a Past President of The Professional Photographers of Massachusetts (PPAM).  He holds Master Photographer, Photographic Craftsman and certification degree, CPP.

Wayne Tarr is a seasoned underwater portrait photographer with decades of experience as a studio portrait photographer. Wayne exclusively uses indoor and outdoor pools for his underwater sessions, ensuring a safe environment for all participants. His controlled settings allow him to create stunning, artistic underwater images. In his free time, Wayne enjoys inventing ways to connect with his children and grandchildren and watching movies with his wife, Sally. Lunch: bring your own


What to Bring:

a swimsuit/leotard/wetsuit

a coverup to wear around the pool to stay warm 

flip flops, etc. you can use to walk aound

writing materials

plastic bag, or container, to carry your wet items home

SD camera card


All PPA member attendees will receive 1 Merit.

PPA # Must be provided at time of registration.
