Date: Monday March 18th, 2019 Time: 10:00 am to 4:30 pm Location: ASA Photographic, 71 Faulkner Street #215, N. Billerica MA
“Make More Money & Keep More Of It” will cover ideas and concepts for creating value in your business, yourself, and your products; pricing products for more profit; offering size options to keep your sales averages higher; getting a handle on cost of goods; planning your workflow to maximize your profitable time; and delivering superior quality portraits to your client with minimum overhead. Attendees should come away with a better understanding of the value of their time and product, where the best use of their time is (and more importantly, isn’t), and ways to keep more of that hard-earned money for themselves. What to bring: Writing material, lunch
Michael Stone, CPP has earned a living solely from photography for 40 years. Born in Indiana he started working at a portrait studio while finishing high school. For the next 11 years he worked at and ultimately became the managing operator of that studio, which primarily did weddings, family portraits, and about 350 seniors a year. In 1990 he moved to MA and worked for Hilton Photography until it was sold in 2008
During those years he was a studio and wedding photographer, studio manager (both individual and multiple studios over time), photography trainer, school department manager, and finally lab manager. Mike’s experience with high volumes of sessions and orders (100 plus daily in season) while maintaining excellent customer service and satisfaction has given him a keen eye for finding efficient ways to work and create high quality products for his clients. He lives in Worcester, MA and does all of his sessions at client’shomes or destinations. Indoor or outdoor environmental portraits, or studio portraits created on location with his portable studio are the trademark look of his work, done in a classic portrait style.
Michael’s business is geared toward producing wall art for his clients and offering gift sizes to accompany them, creating a nice average order per client. In 2018 over 70% of Michael’s clients chose a wall portrait as part of their collection, and over 35% chose more than one wall portrait to display in their home(s). He usually does 120 - 150 sessions per year, entirely on his own, with part time help from his wife Lisa as the scheduler.
